Insmed's objective is to be a leader in the development of inhaled, site-specific therapeutics for the treatment of life-threatening lung diseases utilizing its proprietary liposomal technology designed specifically for lung delivery. Since its inception, Insmed has concentrated on product development and has succeeded in bringing multiple agents to the clinical development stage.
Insmed's business strategy focuses on products that aim to address severe, life-threatening lung diseases for which alternative treatments are either unsatisfactory or non-existent. The Company's potential liposomal technology products may address underserved orphan indications such as cystic fibrosis.
Insmed attempts to maximize the probability of successful product development by carefully identifying, selecting and evaluating inhaled liposomal proprietary therapies that are based on a strong scientific rationale, unmet medical need, sound intellectual property position, and market potential for a particular disease. Insmed's goal is to establish product-driven, collaborative arrangements with leading pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies and academic institutions.
Insmed believes that establishing and maintaining selective collaborations with corporate and academic partners can enable it to effectively and economically leverage its resources to develop and market products on a global basis. By creating product candidates with its innovative liposomal technology, Insmed strives to create valuable later-stage product candidates and a robust product pipeline supported by a strong intellectual property position.
Our partnering initiatives include technology collaborations that could benefit from our proprietary liposomal technology and liposomal formulation expertise, as well as product partnerships that are complementary to our areas of therapeutic focus in respiratory infections and other life-threatening lung diseases.
